Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs)

Many Schools have links with the professional and/or statutory body for their subject area, such as the Nursing and Midwifery Council or the Institute of Chartered Foresters.听 These PSRBs, may approve, accredit or recognise relevant University programmes.听

Where PSRBs need to be involved in the validation of a programme, the School should liaise with Wendy Williams, Quality Assurance Officer (Validations) as soon as possible (w.williams@bangor.ac.uk).听 If the requirements of a PSRB conflict with the University’s Regulations and Codes of Practice, please contact Karen Chidley, Quality Assurance Officer for advice as soon as possible (k.chidley@bangor.ac.uk).听 The Quality Enhancement Unit will be happy to provide support to Schools at any stage of the accreditation process.

PSRB reports provide the University with useful feedback about teaching, learning and assessment.听 All PSRB reports and the School’s written response to them will be received and reviewed by the Curriculum Quality Assurance Delivery Group.听 Please send reports and responses to Karen Chidley as soon as they are available.听 The Quality Enhancement Unit will hold the central University record of PSRB accreditations.

Schools should ensure that they have effective mechanisms for keeping in touch with PSRB developments between visits.听
